Scott Huffman
Owner/Funeral Director
Scott graduated from Mid-America College of Funeral Service in 1982. He served his internship with Bickford-Murray Funeral Home in Greenfield, Iowa, and worked for funeral homes in Emmetsburg and Grundy Center, Iowa. In 1997, he and his wife, Connie, became partners in Christensen-Ciha Funeral Homes, eventually becoming sole owners of the firms and changing the name to Christensen-Huffman Funeral Homes. They added the Sac City chapel in 2009.
Connie Huffman
Owner/Office Manager
Connie began working in the funeral industry while Scott was serving his internship in Greenfield, and over the years has continued and expanded her role as office manager, bookkeeper, and pre-arrangement counselor. Connie and Scott have three grown children, Justin, Jill, and Sam. They have two grandchildren and are eagerly anticipating a third. They are members of St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Austin Boger
Funeral Director Intern
The newest member of the Christensen-Huffman Funeral Homes staff, Austin recently graduated from the Mortuary Science program at Des Moines Area Community College. He lives in Sac City and is currently serving his internship. Austin grew up in Battle Creek, and is the son of Jeff and Dee Boger. He is dedicated to providing quality funeral service to families in the area and looks forward to many years of service to the community.
Kenneth Streck
Funeral Home Assistant
Kenny was born and raised in the Ida Grove area, where he farmed for many years before serving as manager of the Rural Electric Cooperative. He has been a faithful employee of Christensen-Huffman Funeral Homes since 2002, is a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, and an active member of McNamara-Moore Post No. 61 of the American Legion.
Bill Dreessen
Funeral Home Assistant
Bill lives in Odebolt with his wife, Susan. He served in the United States Air Force for 16 years, then farmed northwest of Wall Lake for many years. In his retirement, he became an automobile salesman for Beckman Motors in Odebolt. Bill joined the staff of Christensen-Huffman Funeral Homes in 2008. He is a lifetime member of Trinity United Presbyterian Church in Wall Lake.
Pam Porter
Visitation Attendant
Pam is from Odebolt where she works full-time at Odebolt Nursing & Rehab Center. She is a life-long resident of Odebolt and enjoys helping on visitations. She is a member of Arthur Evangelical Free Church and enjoys time spent with her many nieces and nephews.
Kris Bender
Certified Preplanning Counselor
Kris has been helping families communicate about end of life plans for over nine years. She takes pride in taking a difficult subject and creating an environment through education and passion to ensure great communication between individuals and family members. She received her accreditation through the National Funeral Directors Association.
Kris was raised in Lake City, Iowa. She and her husband Scott have two children, Blake and Brooke. They have lived in Spencer Iowa for the past 17 years where they enjoy being active in their church, schools and community.
Nolan Warnke
Automotive Attendant
Nolan is a sophomore at Odebolt-Arthur-Battle Creek-Ida Grove High School and is the son of Brett and Linda Warnke. He is instrumental in keeping the funeral home vehicles sparkling clean and also performs light duties around the funeral home. He is a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, enjoys sports and outdoor activities, and maintaining his truck.
